Founded in 1997
The EK Realty Team was formed with the goal of commitment and personal connection in the busy Manhattan real estate market. You can rely on us to be your partner and support team. We manage properties throughout the city, which includes rentals, condominiums, and cooperatives, for which we are fiscally responsible and have saved the owners thousands of dollars.
EK Realty, LLC is an approved property manager for the New York State Unified Court System, where we have manage properties for various receivers throughout New York City. These have included properties in the South Bronx, Harlem, and Brooklyn.
Moshe Katzenstein
Co-founder
Moshe describes EK Realty as a “boutique management firm” because of the unique personal element that is a defining feature of the award-winning New York City real estate company.
Moshe’s interpersonal skills are counted as one of his greatest strengths. He has developed a reputation as trustworthy, reliable, responsible, and focused. Anyone who works with Moshe and EK Realty enjoys being the recipient of his light-hearted, warm, and engaging attention.
Having been a longtime NYC apartment building dweller, Moshe has a distinct understanding of where the needs of residents and the obligations of the landlord/management should meet. The multi-faceted aspect of the real estate business appeals to Moshe because it gives him an opportunity to constantly learn and perfect new skills.
Throughout his career, Moshe has proficiently dealt with unexpected gas leaks, fires, and structural and plumbing problems. His easy-going, friendly personality, coupled with his efficient problem-solving savvy, is a combination deeply appreciated by his clients who rely on him to put them at ease during stressful times.
Moshe’s expertise lies in managing rentals, co-ops & condos, and commercial spaces. In his role as a property manager, Moshe acts as a liaison between landlords and tenants; landlords/owners/tenants and building staff; and owners and vendors. He also handles the financial, insurance, and legal business of the properties, which includes overseeing rent collection, filling vacancies, navigating NYC Local Laws and property codes, and more.
Jacob Eisenstein
Co-founder
Jacob Eisenstein was born into the real estate field. His family’s business, David Eisenstein Real Estate Corp., has been in business for over fifty years. Jacob joined the company in 1982 as a part-time licensed real estate salesman. In 1985, Jacob took a job at Fairmount Construction in Brooklyn to get a better understanding of the physical structures of buildings and homes. Over the next three years he served as foreman and oversaw the building of forty new homes throughout the city.
In 1988, Jacob joined the newly formed Prince Management. The firm was opened by Joseph Chetrit of The Chetrit Group. Jacob managed twenty-two of the fifty buildings that Chetrit owned. The properties were in the South Bronx, Astoria, and Jackson Heights in Queens, as well as properties all over Manhattan. When The Chetrit Group wanted to concentrate more on commercial real estate, Jacob helped them broker the sale of over one hundred million dollars worth of real estate.
After working together for over 10 years at The Chetrit Group, Jacob and Moshe decided to apply their experience to opening and running their own property management firm.
In 1997 Jacob received his Broker License from New York University and opened EK Realty, LLC together with Moshe.
